Arti-Fol® metallic 12 microns is a high-tech control foil with significantly improved properties. This control medium consists of a metallized polyester film (Shimstock Foil) only 12 microns thick. The combination of a metallized film with a colored coating offers significant advantages in certain applications. This medium is characterized by excellent color transmission. Contact points are clearly visible, especially on ceramic and highly polished metal surfaces. The use of a metallized film significantly reduces the problem of electrostatic charge. This material is also tear-resistant and therefore suitable for resilience testing. Compared to ordinary Shimstock, the innovative Arti-Fol® metallic precisely marks the contact point. Its metallized backing eliminates the possibility of confusing the colored side with the uncoated side. Arti-Fol® metallic, with its high tensile strength and thinness of only 12 µm, is very useful for controlling proximal contact points when cementing crowns and bridges. This foil is very easy to apply using the Arti-Fol® BK 145 proximal contact point pliers. Arti-Fol® metallic is available in four different colors. As a complement to Arti-Fol® metallic, we offer classic Shimstock foil without a colored coating in 8 mm and 16 mm widths.
