Wax-ups are used for the functional and aesthetic planning of dental restorations. They are applied to anatomical models or master models mounted on an articulator, and to different types of frameworks (metal-ceramic, metal-free, etc.). Either white modeling wax or tooth-colored wax is used. The opaque wax has an extremely high covering capacity, even in very thin layers, which is important for metal frameworks. In addition to the classic fabrication of wax-ups, the main application is the wax investment of secondary telescopes.
